CAREER:
The Health Care Assistant Training Program has been developed to provide individuals with an
opportunity to upgrade their skills, upgrade their knowledge and upgrade their earning potential
as they gain the expertise needed for employment in the community and in continuing care facilities.
EMPLOYMENT OPTIONS:
Facilities, Senior Lodges, Nursing Homes, Group Homes, Continuing Care Centres as well as Home Care Agencies.
ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum Grade 10
- 18 Years of age or older
- In good physical health, emotionally mature, responsible and enjoy assisting people.
- Completion of entrance test (may be required)
- Entrance interview
- Command of English language (spoken & written)
PROGRAM LENGTH:
- Full Time
- Sixteen (16) weeks
- Monthly intake
CERTIFICATION:
Upon completion of both classroom theory, practical experience and written exams the student will
receive Health Care Assistant Certification from Community Care.
